Dr. Leigh Anne Green has been in the Optometry industry since she was in high school, always loving the medical field and helping people see. She attended Baylor University, graduating with honors in the University Scholars program. Every summer she would work alongside Optometrists, seeing what she could apply to her career. After graduation, she took part in her first eye care mission trip to Honduras, where she was part of team of workers helping hundreds receive glasses or surgery. She attended graduate school at the University of Houston College of Optometry, while getting married and having the first two of her four children.

She worked until 2004 when she and her family moved to the Middle East for 8 years. In 2013, she purchased the practice of retiring Dr. Spencer Moore, who had worked in Waco for over 40 years. This has now become Green Eye Associates, and has grown to help thousands of patients. Dr. Green is very active in her church, Antioch Community Church, volunteering in different roles, while her husband Trey is on the staff of Antioch Ministries International.

They have four daughters. She enjoys staying active with Refit (TM) or walking outdoors.

She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Optometry and a member of the Texas Optometry Association, and has recently been honored by the Women in Optometry publication.

Dr. Avery Platt attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is also a proud alumnus of Baylor University where she completed her undergraduate degree in Health Science Studies. In optometry school, Dr. Platt completed her internships at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas and Spring-Klein Vision Center in North Houston. During these rotations, she took a particular interest in fitting specialty contact lenses and the treatment and management of dry eye disease, among other things. Also, during part of optometry school, she was a medical assistant at Green Eye Associates, which is how she and Dr. Green first connected.

Dr. Platt is joyfully married to her husband, Chris, and together they have a sweet and spunky daughter. Dr. Platt was born and raised in Colorado, where she discovered her love for hiking and being outdoors (in good weather). In her free time, she loves to make memories with her family, exercise, and play with their two dogs, Bonnie and Clyde.

During optometry school, Dr. Pratt completed externships at The Contact Lens Institute of San Antonio and Ft. Sam Houston. Both of these sites offer medical  and visually necessary contact lens training to improve the lives of patients with a variety of eye diseases. In 2018, Dr. Pratt moved with her husband (Logan) to Longview, TX to offer specialty contact lens services to the East Texas. She really adored this community and was a graduate of Leadership Longview class of 2022. After 5 years and having become a family of 4, they decided to pack up and move "home." Central Texas is where they met, got married, and where their families are from. 

Other hobbies Dr. Pratt loves include “simple living" and decluttering. Her family enjoys outdoor hobbies such as co-ed sports, driving ATVs, hunting, fishing, porch swing sitting, etc.
